Trail Distance : 2KM loop
Description: Single trail with technical ride handling and aggressive downhill.
Start from Taman Suria ,Jitra and end the same. Total distance 20KM.

Jerai MTB Jamboree 2011, Gurun, Kedah, Malaysia.

Organized by Perwaja MTB Club and Persatuan Kakitangan Perwaja Steel Berhad.
Jerai MTB Jamboree 2011 had set another standard in event management. Everythings were planned and well executed and nothing left unattended. Everybody enjoy the jamboree. I saw the spirit of jamboree was alive. Riders were helping each others during ride and truly united as Malaysian.

Jamboree pembuka tirai musim 2011 bakal bermula 16 Januari 2011 ini. Gurun satu pekan yang pesat membangun memang terkenal dengan industri pembuatan kereta NAZA, motosikal Modenas, industri petrokimia serta Perwaja. Gurun juga bakal menjadi tuan rumah kepada lebih 1600 orang pelumba mountain bike seluruh negara. Gerek Baru juga turut menghantar seramai 20 peserta ke temasya ini yang julung kali diadakan.
Trek Jerai MTB Jamboree dengan senang senang boleh memuatkan lebih 2000 orang pelumba pada satu masa kerana laluan yang lebar dan laju. Saya sebenarnya risau tentang keadaan laluan di dalam kebun getah yang kering dan berbatu lada halus. Keadaan akan bertambah bahaya jika cuaca terlalu kering yang bakal menyebabkan laluan trek tidak mencengkam tayar terutama semasa mengambil selekoh semasa downhill. Apatah lagi pelumba- pelumba cenderong meningkatkan kelajuan kerana jalan yang lebar. Kerisauan saya sebenarnya tidak berasas kerana cuaca sekarang menyebelahi peserta-peserta. Kedah tahun ini seolah olah tidak ada musim kemarau kerana hujan sentiasa turun walaupun pada bulan January yang biasanya kering.

Gerek Baru with collaboration with all riders from Alor Setar, Jitra and Changloon from time to time will publish all the trail in this area for reference. The project is part of an effort to promote mountainbiking as a healthy activities for the community. Besides, it is also important for all the trail be documented for future reference and can be shared amongst the MTB community. Everybody are allowed to use and share the link in anyway but a proper credit should be given to Gerek Baru. Everytrail had been chosen as a platform for sharing because of flexibility and ease of access through the web based application.
