SHIMANO UUM Bike Challenge 2010

Venue   : Universiti Utara Malaysia, Sintok, Kedah

After the postponement due to flood in the northern state, finally the event was held on 21/11/2010. Gerek Baru sent several riders on both MTB category XC Race and Fun Ride.


1)Venue: The starting place was held at Padang Kawat, UUM. The area had ample parking and wide spaces for the event. The area closed to basic facilities such as toilet , shower room and surau for the participants. However, not many riders aware of the facilities.

2)The trail (MTB)- The trail was in fact the reverse of last year trail with some modification. It started with some moderate climbing and became more intense towards the end. The heavy rain several days before made the trail so wet, muddy and slippery. A wide gap of water station between CP3 and CP4 made the riders dry. Anyway, the trail really test the riders' endurance and skills.

3)Goodies, food and Lucky Draw: Really nice good jersey. The lucky draw prizes were excellent. The organizer had learned from last year event where the foods not enough for late riders. This year, the foods were packed and controlled by coupon, and I think every riders had not missed their lunch. This year also we  can see the local company Fathilat Herbs sponsoring energy drink. Excellent jobs.
