Satun -Langu - Pak Bhara -Koh Lipeh

Date: 3, 4 & 5 February, 2011
Started from Wang Kelian, Perlis and rode until Pak Bhara, Satun Province Thailand with distance of 95 KM one way. Then, took feri from Pak Bhara to Koh Lipeh "The Maldives of Andaman".

Total riders: 4 'unsounded' bicycles

Koh mean island in Thai. Koh Lipeh is heaven for anglers and scuba divers but of course not for cycling. It is a very small island gazetted as marine park consists of several islands including Koh Adang and Koh Rawi. Koh lipeh has two beautiful beach i.e sun 'up' beach and sun 'down' beach. Everythings here are simple even the choice of words. There are no 5 star hotel here, only small chalet with bamboo wall and nipah roof. Be prepared to pay more than double the price for air cond room because electricity here very expensive. Even the ferry fare from Pak Bhara to Koh Lipeh cost TB900 (RM90)two way.

Inside ferry cargo deck on the way to the island

Ready for transit with 'bot pancung' to the Lipeh beach which cost another TB50 (RM5).

Touch down at the island

This island rules by raggae. Loosen up yourself. Don't worry be happy. Makes things simple. Integrate youself with the locals and environment. Thanks to Abang Ronn who willing to share his years of touring expertise with us. Not many people want to do that. Very good leader and mentor to us.
