Dilema Dalam Kesamaran

Hari ini aku dalam dilema. Yang mana satu aku patut pilih. PudinTTG ajak aku kayuh ke Lebai Hussin Sintok bersama Tandope and the Gang misi pencarian jalan baru. Aku komited dengan misi pembukaan jalan baru lebuhraya dalam hutan. Pada masa yang sama, kawan kawan sepermainan basikal aku Riezal dan Lan yang dah lama tak berkayuh sama mengajak aku mengharungi jalan berbukit Jitra-Bukit Wang. Pukul 12 tengahari pula, aku kena bergegas ke Sungai Petani untuk makan tengahari bersama kawan kawan sekolah sains dan berbincang mengenai reunion yang bakal diadakan pada hari Wesak Mei ini.

Maka Team terpaksa berpecah dua. Aku bertekad setia berkayuh di Jitra bersama Alias bikeshop, Senu, Cikgu Lutfi, Riezal dan Lan. Manakala nun jauh di Sintok, PudinTTG and the Gang berhempas pulas meneroka trek Lebai Husin. Di Jitra, trek CP3 reverse osmosis dipilih.

Endless Trail To Excitement

I was told the Garmin already arrived. I never use this gadget before except the simple GPS navigation system for city traffic uses. This new Garmin is packed with more advanced features suitable for trail exploration. Definitely will take sometime to familirize with the things.

I am not giving all the hope to the technology which is sometime misleading. At the same time I am not denying either their usefulness. It is only 10% of the rest. What gives me the fuel is a line of dedicated team of mountainbikers who are ready to face the challenge and make a sacrifice for the betterment of this sport.

It is a big waste also if the exploration and new finding is kept to ourselves only. There will be no flow of idea if we keep it to secret. People will not be able to comment. There will be no improvement. What is important, the findings and details must be documented and people can access to the document with ease. It will be refered and quoted by anybody who are interested about the subject. One of the good reference about mountainbiking trail in Malaysia can be found in Adiharriman.com.

2)Muda Kuari-Bukit Tunjang-Bukit Padang Perahu along the dusun area connected Bukit Tunjang and Bukit Padang Perahu in Tunjang, Kedah.
3)Expanding the area of Ladang Jati, Perik, Kuala Nerang, Kedah.
4)Detail documented trail of Jati Pallas trail which include Bukit Wang-CP3-Jati Palas-Bukit Dogoi loop in Jitra, Kedah.
5)Documented trail of trek balak which include jalan paip gas Taman Tunku Sarina, Jitra-Kg Kota Mengkuang-Kampung Keda, Wang Tepus to CP3 Bukit Malau, Jitra.

MTB Superhighway- The Beginning

I'm very excited with this exploration. PudinTTG called me a day before and asked me to join the exploration along with Tandope to find a new trail linking Wang Perah in Changloon to Perik in Kuala Nerang. If the exploration is fruitful, there will be hundred of kilometre of MTB superhighway linking two districts in Northern Kedah that is Kubang Pasu and Padang Terap accross the mountainous and virgin jungle of the area. It will create a loop linking Ladang Jati Perik, Puncak Janing in Padang Terap/ Kuala Nerang with Wang Perah and Bukit Lebai Husin in Changloon. Yes, it is quite ambitious but achievable. " If the bird catchers and hunters in the area freely roaming from Wang Perah to Puncak Janing in Kuala Nerang in the jungle, there must be a way for bicycle to go through" Tandope said with full confidence.

Unfortunately, our exploration is only half way. Some people might say this exploration failed, but for me it is the beginning. One of the reasons we are unable to conclude this mission are there is no proper trail to guide us through unlike which is believed. It is totally virgin trail and must have proper mapping system to go through. We have to retreat because the risk is higher when we go deeper without proper guide.

So for next mission, we will engage a trail guide from the local people who are willing to cycle with us in the jungle, " if we have to hire them, then we will hire them, the mission must go through" said Tandope. The second thing is to bring Garmin mapping system along.

Anybody in Alor setar, Jitra, Changloon and the vicinity who are interested to share the cost of Garmin Mapping System can call PudinTTG 019-4800116. We are planning to buy Garmin System and share the cost with many riders. Anybody who contribute can use the Garmin freely of course the priority is for MTB exploration.
