Thank to Adiharriman for this photo

I'm so frustrated with the way the so called a well known cycling team in Taiping organized this Jamboree. As if they are not a cycling team but a political institution. A very good gimmick with grand flag off, one malaysia bla...bla...but nothing inside.

I don't want to elaborate on the delay of flag off, uncontrollable situation, haywire of situation at the opening of the ceremony. I am more interested on the trail. I went there to experience mountain biking. What is the point when 70% of the time I have to push my bicycle either climbing or downhill. It is unridable. It is more suitable for jungle trekking but not for mountain biking. That why I said these people not a cycling team but a political team.

After more than an hour pushing the bicycle on the jungle trekking, a lot of energy are wasted, drinking water almost dries up, there was no water refill station at the CP????????...I'm so dissapointed with the way they organize this event. People will remember this jamboree as the worst jamboree of 2009.

Pre Ride Up North- Ulu Pauh, Perlis

20 December, 2009

A group of 6 rider ketegar Jitra went to Ulu Pauh Trail, with a mission of uncovering hidden secret of soon to be famous trail of northernmost part of Malaysia. Last time I rode on this trail on Dec 2008 and and this time like an annivessary to me. The trail never lost its touch, just like before eagerly waiting to swallow the visitors. So many riders had fallen down to earth and today is no exception.

A large percentage of trail revolve around the rubber plantation estate. There are so many paths to take and you can easily lost in the middle of nowhere and might end up in Kodiang, a small town in neighboring Kedah. It is a matter of preference which path to take because every path has its own unique flavor.

There are a lots of climbing, some are quite steep but ridable with no chance to take a long breath. The downhill part are quite harsh because of the waterways and big loose stone which can easily bring you down to earth. Now I know why Perlis riders invest alot in their fork- to absorb the harsh environment with confident.

The trail will definitely satisfy both novice and pro equally. Let's ride up north. Perlis Jamboree here we come. I followwwwwwww...

My trail of the year- Wang Pallas Trail a combined of Bukit Wang and Jati Pallas trail. Short but full of adrenalin. Can be completed in 1.5 hours. Suitable for the people like me who do not have the time luxury.

Kayuh Lasak Ladang Jati Perik

On 04/12/09, a group of riders from Jitra completed a mission of conquering the Ladang Jati Perik, kuala Nerang. For me, this was my first time on the trail but not to some of the riders like senu, zaim and cikgu lotfi who always on this trails with Red Flag riders.

My first impression, this trail is superb no wonder the Red Flag Team never get bored pedalling days and night on her. The foreplay parts introduced you with long climbing and also rewarded with long downhill. The trail become a bit technical on the last 40% with steep downhill and climbing. Its truly bring me to the climax with multiple ejaculation especially with my new air shox. Zaim and Senu always reminded me not to apply any brake during DH for safety. At first I thought they were joking, only when I was thrown out off my bike on one of the downhill then I know what's that mean. I learned something 'brake can kill you', do not stop the momentum at its height. This is where bike control at high speed is important which I'm still learning.

I am looking forward for a more enjoyable ride on this trail. Learning process will never stop. The more you ride, the more ......??don't know.
