Team Gerek Baru confirmed to participate in the coming UUM XC race on 19 July 09 and Kedah Jamboree on 1 Aug 09. Since this is a new team, it will participate only in the event inside Kedah for this year. That means it has to skip the Nibong Tebal Mountain Bike Race on 21 Jun 09.

Team Gerek Baru has set a moderate target on all the events it will participate this year that is to be in the top 20. The team already started an intensive training since early this month with a more intense training designed for the specific ride. The team also plan to promote itself to be well known among the northern mountain bikers with a more aggressive marketing and public relation. A joint ride with other teams is being worked out in the near term.
